God’s Good News-Perseverance

Dear Friend,

I heard the word “perseverance” spoken softly into my spirit. I wondered if this was a warning of an upcoming trial or difficulty that I would have to endure. Perseverance means to  a) be steadfast  b) a strengthened form of  c) denotes to continue steadfastly in a thing and give unremitting care to it.
I searched the scriptures on perseverance. My attention arrested on the following verse in Ephesians 6:18; With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,. This verse follows the armor of God mentioned in the previous verses.

I am recognizing God urging me to spend more time in prayer for my own destiny, for our nation and the world at large. The prayer shield for America must be strengthened for darkness is arising. We must persevere in prayer for those in authoritative positions, for all the saints and those who yet need to know Jesus.  As we pray we activate the power of God and destroy the works of darkness. May the Holy Spirit guide our prayer time.

Let me encourage you. God will give you the strength and grace to persevere in prayer for whatever situation you are facing. He is with you and since “nothing is impossible with God”  your situation is not impossible but instead a victorious one. In your persevering, think positive, speak God’s word, and proclaim the victory that Christ already won for us! 1 Thess. 5:16-18 Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Don’t give up! A professional athlete never gives us because they know the victory that perseverance produces. How much moreso does the believer in Christ experience through perseverance!  Romans 5:3-5 says, “And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance, and perseverance, proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Blessings,
Diane
