Missions #2 church

“Wait wait! ” my translator said shaking her finger while laughing. I had just finished a story about how God gave me a ham gravy recipe. I had overcooked the ham for an Easter dinner and there was no gravy. My husband needs gravy with his ham. I was wondering what to do when the Lord broke through my thoughts and said “orange juice, cinnamon, water and flour.”  While the class I was sharing in knew English, periodically my translator would have me pause while she restated my words in Portuguese to make sure everyone understood.

I was sharing in a Sunday School class of a very large church in Rio de Janeiro. The topic was from Proverbs 3:5-6.” Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” I was sharing on trusting God. I trust in Him everyday all day. I would not want to live a day without the Lord. He is my love, peace, joy, wisdom, comfort, strength, power, fortress, and my best friend. There is nothing on this earth that compares with Jesus. Not a thing. It doesn’t take long to realize that our own problem solving mechanisms fall way short when compared to the power of God activated in our circumstances. We simply activate His power by praying in faith, relying on what Christ has already done, and trusting in His word.

After the message, my son and I had an amazing time giving prophecy and praying for every member of the class. Our translator worked with us carefully sharing in Portuguese all that was said. It took us a couple of hours but it brings great joy to my heart to be able to minister to everyone and encourage them in the Lord. There were many hugs given and friends made. It was simply glorious! May God be honored and glorified! It is all about Him and what He wants to accomplish in each and every person’s life. He continues to transform us each day into the image of Christ Jesus!
