My husband and I flew to Atlanta to visit our youngest son. We made plans ahead of time to see the Falcons first game of the season in the new Mercedes Benz stadium. I was more or less going along for the ride with this game, following behind my husband and son watching their excitement. I soon got caught up in all the enthusiasm of the fans even before we went into the building. There was an entire field full of freebies, food, games and music. Everyone was excited for the opening game. Once we pushed ourselves through the gate we needed a few photos with the enormous silver metal falcon, which was quite spectacular. The stadium was highly impressive, high tech and the roof opened up. The chairs were nice, music was great and the snacks affordable. All is well and we were having fun!

One day prior to the game we went shopping for Falcons apparel. I bought a black tee shirt with white letters which said “Rise Up.” My son said I would be hearing that quite a bit at the game. He was right, this was shouted out over and over and shown on banners and flags!  This began to resonate in my spirit as a word for the body of Christ right now. It is time for the body of Christ to “rise up!” We as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, blood bought and adopted into the kingdom of God must rise up and play offense! We don’t have to live on the defense and keep trying to tackle the enemy so he doesn’t score! We are the running backs carrying the Kingdom and we have the advantage! Jesus wants to pass us the ball so we can score!

Luke 10:19 “Look, I have given you the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy; nothing will ever harm you!.”

1 John 3:8 “The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

The Falcons went on to win the game 34-23 over the Green Bay Packers. They rose up and made all their plays count. We can do the same. We can rise up against the darkness of this world because we are the light of the world! (Matthew 5:14-16) We have the authority of Christ and all power over the enemy! (Luke 10:19) Let’s believe it! Let’s declare it! Let’s live it! We are the head and not the tail! (Deuteronomy 28:13) Greater is He that is within us, than he that is in the world! (1 John 4:4)  Let’s live on the offense and not defense. We are ball carries for Jesus and His message needs carried into all the world. Won’t you join me?
