One of my favorite passages in the Bible has to be Romans 8:37-39.
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Nothing can separate us from the love of God… nothing. Not your past, not your sin. Those things may be hurdles in your relationship but they will not make His pursuit for you any less furious.
Usually people give these verses little thought after having gleaned the obvious… that nothing can separate us from the love of God.
I would like to draw your attention to another equally important part of this passage… victory! Verse 37 uses the word “conquerors” or “overcomers,” and draws a correlation between conquering and Christ’s love. You are not only victorious, but even more than that through His love.
If you take a short time to connect the dots here you find that not only are we constantly surrounded by His love, but nothing can separate us from Victory either. We have His love at all times. We have victory through that love at all times. Chapter 8, verse 31 of Romans says “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
When you find yourself fighting an uphill battle I would encourage you to stand on these verses as a foundation of faith and proclaim victory over your circumstances.
