Ever Present Strength

Fresh ideas and new inspirations are upon us at the beginning of this new year. A time to recalculate may be on your agenda. Making changes to grow is both stimulating and adventurous keeping our journey fruitful. I enjoy this time of year as I hunker down with the Lord and evaluate progress and what lies ahead. As always there is a new resolve to exercise for a sharp mind and energy.  Likewise my spiritual journey undergoes evaluation. As long as we are moving forward we will not grow stagnant. God has strength for us to make the changes He is calling us to make.

Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

The strengthening of Christ is more than endurance for ministry.  It is more than the ability to stand in line for 5 hours praying for people. Although, a five hour prayer line needs the strength of the lord. Let us not limit the strength of God merely to spiritual assignments. That is an expectation we all have and most assuredly God gives us strength to accomplish His callings.

This week we had a number of rooms painted in our home. The preparation for this work was huge. Furniture needed moved  plus a thorough cleaning out of clutter. We have kids’ belongings here in our home and no more kids! I decided upfront to refuse any frustration or pressure. I am learning to work out of rest and this would be  good test. As I write this the test has been passed with flying colors! All the work has been completed and I stayed in joy! God blessed me with His strength and empowerment to do something not resembling ministry.

This is one of the benefits of living life with Christ. He lives in us and therefore we always have access to His strength. As we spend time with the Lord each morning we are reminded of His continued presence and strength made available to us.

2 Corinthians 12:9 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.”
